What flowers can stand the most direct sun...?

I had planted gerber daisies pansies and new guinea impatiens, but the are turning yellow and drying out. They are getting enough water, but maybe the heat is getting to them. they were doing fine in the sun, but we have had some heat waves here. could that do it?

begonia
Reply:When you buy flowers, there is usually a tag that will say "full sun" or "part shade". New Guinea impatiens are a shade-loving plant. They have high moisture requirements, so they do well in a shaded area...

I would check your garden center for native perennials like black-eyed susans or purple coneflower. Think about what you would see in a field in your area and use it as a guideline.

Good luck!
Reply:The heat could be the problem, or lack of fertilizer. I live in FL and I've found that pentas do best for me in full sunlight. The dark pink ones don't get overgrown and leggy like the light pink ones. And pentas don't wilt in the heat.
Reply:sun flower
Reply:Gerber dasies kinda do thier thing and fade. Impatients can only handle5 hours of direct sun before they start to stress.

Try - Cleome, Marigolds , zinnia , Lantana , lillies , Black eyed susans , purple coneflowers , all high sun ,no water or pests - trouble free
Reply:probably cannas and geraniums
