Is it possible to transplant a cactus about 8 ft tall and 5 ft. around. If so, how?

Someone offered me a beautiful cactus about 8 ft tall and 5 ft around. It has yellow flowers. He has to move it as it was planted over a septic tank. Is it possible to transplant this and what should I expect to pay for someone to do so? Thx

well we have one that is about 8 ft tall but only maybe a foot or a foot and a half around. Just used a dolly and a strap. The dolly is obvious the strap was for the guy standing in front of you so that when you leaned it back he held the strap around the cactus so it didnt smash you in the face. Be carefull!
Reply:Your best bet is to call a local nursery and ask their advice. Someone may even come out to see if it is possible to transplant.
Reply:Any plant can be moved, but the cost may be prohibitive. Check with some of the larger nurseries and they should be able to stear you in the right direction. You will need somebody with a tree spade to dig it out. I would move it during a dormant period.
