Help my clivia has turned yellow on the middle to ends of leaves!?

I bought my first clivia from a plant shop about 2 weeks ago. I was unsure of weather to buy it because it was looking a little poorly as the ends of the leaves were turning yellow. I decided in the end to buy it as it was the only yellow flowering one they had. I repotted it useing a standard slow release potting mix and watered it well. It is in a constant shady spot so the leaves are not being burnt. The only thing that I can think of is that I went away last week for a week so it could have been dehydrated when I bought it maybe and me not being there for a week made it worse. Although I put some water crystals in the pot... I dont know please help it is such a lovely plant!

Clivias don't resent repotting, they hate it. They don't need much water and need to be pot-bound to bloom. You're killing it with kindness, give it a little benign neglect. One of my favorites. RScott
Reply:Thank you! I will try and refrain from being nice to it! I'll let you know if it works!!! Report It
Reply:Check for amaryllis worm ... sounds like you got one or more in your plant. Check at the base of the leaves (open like pages in a book) if you find something in there that resembles fig jam (jelly???) the war is on. Get rid of it immediately or it will destroy the entire plant. I see our local gardeners stabbing them with a hat pins or any long needle for that matter... don't laugh it works. Only use insecticides if you are really stuck.
Reply:I really know too little about clivias to help you myself but there seems to be a good website:

www.northamericancliviasociety.org

which may be able to help you. It is run by volunteers.
